Finally I've got time to post

Hello and happy Monday to you all,
(that is if anyone is still coming by to see what I am up to)
I am so sorry that I have been such a bad, bad blogger.
Life has just been sooooo hectic with not enough hours in the day.
My study schedule is very full on and keeping me ultra busy.
I am nearly at the end of term two so am looking forward to a little break very soon.
Don't get me wrong - I am still so super loving every minute of study.
Just starting  to get ready for a break.
Well this last weekend I gave myself a little break, as a treat for getting through a week full of assessments.
And I got to play in the craft room
Oh gee I forgot just how much I love pottering around putting little bits of paper together.
So to cut to the chase I will just show you what I have made, firstly this last weekend then some more that I made about 5 weeks ago when I was lucky enough to have a little play with my friends when we had a card day.

I am not going to list all the stamps and papers etc. as it will take me way too long. Instead if you want to know where something is from, drop me a line and I'll let you know.

This card has a white embossed butterfly on pearlised pink card - you can't see the full detail but it looks really pretty in real life.
 Inside view
This card is my favourite that I made over this weekend, love the stampin up dot paper.
Just a little inside detail on this one.
And then this one is playing with a new stamp set and some bold colours. -I am happy with how it came together
Again the inside view adding some bold colours again.

Then these are from mid term break when I had a card day with my card making buddies.

White on white for something out of my comfort zone.
On the day I only had the star paper and the happy birthday banner with the stars with the buttons on top. Over this last weekend I thought it needed more stars - hehehe can you have too many stars?
And even more stars on the inside.
This card I modelled on a card from my pinterest board here. I loved the  fresh colours used in the original and I thought these pink and greys would work, but I am not happy with how the dots ended up looking with the cut and the line of dots not matching up. Anyway I am happy with the inside - I wish I had done this look on the front of the card. Note to self to not stick down until I am 100% happy with the card!

Then this is No. 1 son's 15th birthday card, it's a little hard to see but next to the A is the rest of his name - Ashley (you just have to look closely)
Ok well that is the lot for now, please excuse the fact that I have been lazy and not listed all goodies used but if I had to write out everything - I would probably never post - because time is just so short at the moment.

I do still pop by all my regular favourite blogs - I just don't comment anymore. I limit myself to a maximum of five minute blog hunting and five minute pinteresting each day - I figure five minutes is better than none.

Ok well I hope life is treating you well and I hope you have a super happy day
talk soon,
 x joy

Finally a post

Hello and a happy Wednesday to you!
Shhhhhhhh don't tell anyone that I am here - I am supposed to be studying hehehe
but I figure all work and no play makes joy a dull girl.
so I have escaped and come to post.
I had to upload some photos for hubby in relation to the house renovations so that he could email them off for some final fittings to be made, so I have just quietly popped over here to upload some of my photos as well (kill 2 birds with the one stone)
So hence it will be a quick post so I don't get caught out - after all I can't expect hubby to do all the house work when I am studying but really I am on here posting.
if you don't tell him - I won't
anyway here are the cards that I have made in the last month
only 3 cards in one month
how sad is that
Anyway here they are:

This is a card that I made for a dear little 2 year old who had a ballerina party.
Then these next two are ones that I got inspiration from pinterest for.
As always I haven't copied them exactly (as that would be rude) I have just used the colours and main design ideas, and I have used square cards as they are my favourites

I want to try this one in burgundy as well - I think it will look lovely.
Well hopefully I will get to have a play soon, I am up to week 11 in this term, so one week left of study before revision and exam weeks are upon us.
We are then off to Brisbane for a couple of doctors appointments and some much needed R & R.
I am still checking in with my favourite blogs, just not getting time to leave comments, I have even missed lots of entries in give aways with being so busy. But hey I have a goal to achieve so just having a quick sticky is better than not getting to visit at all.
Ok well I hope all that I have said is understandable as I have written this very quickly.
I am off over to my study blog now to give an update on what has been happening in that department - I may as well while I am logged in.
Ok, well look after yourselves,
Make sure you enjoy life,

so sorry I haven't been around
but I have had my head down and my bum up
with my nose deeply embedded in my text books.
I am missing my papercrafting but loving my study so all is not bad.
Check out where I am at study wise here
Ok better go and get into it

What a terrible blogger I have been!!!!

Oh my goodness!
Where are the days and months going?
I am so sorry for not making an appearance in blog land lately.
Life has just been full speed ahead, go go go, with barely enough time to stop and smell the roses.
But here I am, taking a little break from study, swinging by to say a mighty hello to all my lovely blogging buddies.
I hope that all is well in your neck of the woods and that you are enjoying whatever life is offering you. Although I know that my UK buddies are freezing their sweet pattooies off. I hope things warm up for you soon.
Well I don't even know what I am going to post about so far but I know that somewhere on my computer are a couple of cards that you haven't seen before, that I had promised to show you, but never got around to. So I am going to pop over and have a look at what I can show you, I'll be back in a second . . . . . . .
here have some soft, back ground music to keep you occupied while I am gone

Ok well I am back again, did you enjoy the music?
Here is a little number that I had in my head after making my Christmas cards last year.  I have paper pieced my aeroplane and attached a hand drawn banner, then used a very old cloud stamp, finished with some chevrons and a button.

 I have used:
Kaiser craft little toot stamp
Die-namics chevron die
stampin up sentiment and top note die
impressive (not made any more) cloud stamp
bazzill card stock

Ok well I am off to go visit my other very neglected blog, to say hello, before I get back into study for the day. Have a great day - whatever you are doing and don't forget to stop and smell the roses and enjoy all that life has to offer.

Happy 50th Birthday Present for my lovely Sister

Hello and a happy Sunday to you,
I hope you are having a lovely day, whatever you may be doing or where ever you may be.
I thought I would show you what has been keeping me busy these last few days.
I am very late in getting my lovely Sister's 50th Birthday Present made - so late in fact she turns 51 today. Oh my goodness - how slack am I!!!!!!!
So the last couple of days I have been a busy little beaver working away to try and get this finished so that I can send it to her - better late than never!
But thought that I had better take photo's to show you all first before I send it.
I'm pretty sure she always forgets my blog address (must be an age thing hehehehe) so I think I am safe putting it up here before she gets it.
It's a journal of her 50 years.

There are 14 different sections - for particular special memories, magical moments, favourite foods, fun things she has done and heaps more. Here are a few of the pages:

And this is the final section - like a bucket list I guess.
Each section has pages for her to fill out her memories. With pockets for little souvenirs etc.
I was going to embellish each title page a little more but it has ended up being very thick already - so I had to cut down.
Anyway that is what is keeping me so busy.
One week of holidays to go.
I have had a couple of crafty days with my lovely crafty buddies and I am hoping to get one more day in before I get back to study.
I have been doing a few other crafty makes - so I will share them in the next few days.
Have a great afternoon,
talk soon

Penny Black Saturday Challenge

Hello, back again,
I can't stay away today.
I am lovin' all this free time to play - it is soooo much fun!!!!!
And I finally get a chance to play along with my absolute favourite challenge
Penny Black Saturday.
This months theme is
Love and Marriage
and here is my entry:

This uses:
Penny Black stamp 'I'm so cute!!'
Spellbinders Nestabilities 'petite scalloped circles small'
Martha Stewart 'Lattice Heart' punch
Cherry Lynn Designs 'Build a flower #1'
Bo Bunny 'Crazy Love' paper
Bazzill Card stock
Stamin' Up sentiment and brad
This is the first time that I have used my Cherry Lynn Design, build a flower. I wasn't sure even how to use it - so I googled it and found the Cherry Lynn You Tube Video's.
I must say I had to laugh cause there is a man doing their video's (I think his name is Mike) and oh my goodness how frustrating was it - I just wanted to grab the flower from him and do it myself.!!!!!!!!!!!
he has man sized chubby fingers and he just couldn't maneuver the flower and the tools like a women.
Sorry Mike!!!
But despite chubby uncoordinated fingers it was a good video and I learnt how to use the die.
Anyway I love the die and will use it often I think.
I hope you like it.
Perhaps it might be Hubby's Valentines card for this year.

Little boys birthday card

Hello and happy Wednesday to you,
I am still getting some time to play and I am loving every minute of it.
I made this card because I hardly ever make little boy bithday cards (even though I have 2 boys) I seem to make ladies cards all the time. So step outside the usual for a change and this is what I came up with:

This used:
Kaiser craft Technologic clear stamp set
Cuttlebug diamond plate embossing folder
Sizzix Tim Holtz gadget gears die (I have wanted this for ages)
bazzill card stock
Blue strippy paper from my stash of bits and pieces that I have had for ages - not sure who made it sorry.
I love the diamond plate embossing folder on silver metalic card - it looks like real metal - even Hubby was impressed.
Ok I am heading back into my crafty haven to play again,
talk soon
x joy
I have tried to add a link to Sylvie's great candy  in my side panel - but Mr Blogger won't play the game, so here is the link instead

What was I thinking??????

Hello and a super happy Monday to you,
Oh what a lovely day, the boys are at school ( the big one is at work)
and I have the house all to myself.
OOOOhhhhhh how lovely!!!!
I have the house work all up to date.
The bathrooms are a shining, the floors are all vacuumed and mopped, the kitchen is a sparkling, the washing is a hanging and I am a smiling.
And I popped myself into the craft room and played.
Hehehehehe and I don't feel one little bit naughty!!!!!
Now just in case you are wondering what my title is all about today - I will fill you in.
Have you ever had one of those - Oh my goodness - what was I thinking moments?
Well I had one today - hehehehehehe.
You see I needed a card for my lovely Maths lecturer to say Thank you.
Well somewhere in the middle of the night I had a brain wave to use my Stamin' Up 'perfectly preserved' set and to make a jar full of maths symbols.
What a great idea - only when I went to the computer I realised I needed my Microsoft publisher to do my computer magic. And it is on my broken down computer - Urgh!
Plan B - go look google images for a maths symbol image. Found it, just the right one - not a free one - no siree, that would of been too easy. I found one that I had to purchase Hahahaha and not any old one at that. It was just over 10 pound British - not too bad I tell myself at this point. The image is just perfect so I go for it. Print it out make the card then check my credit card account = YIKES!!!!!!
It was $16.09 Australian hahahahahaha and I will probably only use it once -
 so hence
 THE WHAT WAS I THINKING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I guess I should stop here and show you the card I made:
It is the jar of symbols sitting on a Cartesian plane. I am happy with it - but is it worth over $16 - hmmmmmmm I know what hubby's answer would be hehehehehe

The inside view - I had to get my monies worth with the maths symbols so I printed them in a line to get this strip. Finished with another stampin' up stamp and some star punches.
I do believe that is must be my most expensive(needed for one card) and silliest craft purchase yet!!!
So please make me feel better and pop me a comment and tell my your silliest craft purchase so I will feel a little better.
Well I might go see what else I can achieve for the day - hopefully no more super dumb online purchases hehehehehe
Ok talk soon
x joy

Yippeee I had a play

happy Saturday to you
what a glorious day it is here in Smithville,
the sun is shining,  the birds are singing and there is a nice cool breeze blowing
and to make the day even better - I have had a play in the craft room
Yippeeio !
Ohhhh geee it was nice!
I have really missed just sitting and playing with all my craft supplies and stash.
I had intended on getting some housework done first but the crafty urge was too great - how could I resist hehehe! That together with the fact it is in fact Hubby's birthday today and I hadn't made him a card yet, sealed the deal. So into the craft haven I went and this is what I came up with for the big fella:
He is my super star and he truly is amazing. You should see all the amazing things he does! He is one of those people who can do some much! when it comes to renovating our house, what ever mad idea I come up with, he just gets to it and builds whatever I suggest - so very clever. And I am one very lucky girl! We are nearing the end of our reno's so when we are finished I will put up lots of pictures for you all to see.
This card uses:
Stampin' Up Sprinkled Expressions stamp set.
Hero Arts Thinking of you Messages stamp set.
Bo Bunny, Blast Off! U.F.O paper.
Bazzill Card.
Sizzix Framelits Stars die.
Ribbon, button and string from my stash.
This is the first time that I have used this stampin up set - and I love it - it is sure to become a favourite. I have cut the sentiments from the little stars and will use them as 2 separate stamps - I can always use my stamp-a-ma-jig to line them back up and use them together if need be.
Ok well I am off to have more play time.
Have a great day.
talk soon
x joy
p.s. Before I go I must send out my thoughts and prayers to all those in Queensland who are suffering with these terrible floods. Stay safe and strong - you can get through this and life will be happy again soon. Don't let it beat you.

Happy Australia Day

As always a hearty happy Hello to you,
thank you for stopping by to my little corner of the wonderful world wide web.
I hope that you are having a great day, whatever you are doing and where ever you may be.
The weather has gone wild again with my blogging friends from all over the world reporting crazy happenings from super cold snowy days to super hot heatwaves. It seems hotter than normal and colder than normal. And now Queensland is once again being battered by flooding rains and driving wind. At this stage we are only suffering from windy overcast days - so hopefully it stays that way. Although we have had no Internet since yesterday morning because the lines have been down and we have not been able to get deliveries of a few things due to roads being cut towards the coast. But these things are nothing compared to what people close to the coast have been experiencing - some times its good to live 700kms inland.
Last week we had a rather nasty storm blow through and ended up taking down a couple of our trees - luckily they didn't damage fences or the house. But it was a good days work for my three strong boys to clean them away.

This one damaged the structure of the tree so the whole thing had to go - otherwise it would not of lasted very long and the chances of it falling on hubby's shed was just too high.
Then here is what else we have been up to - sanding walls ready for repainting. Notice the cover sheets that I placed everywhere after hubby's mess making episode in my last post.
Lots of repairs to be covered - these repairs are from the old evaporative airconditioning ducts that where through the main lounge.
And finally a look at my birthday crafty day makes. Using some of my new stamps from stampin' up. Although I brought them last year - so they are not really new but this is the first time I have used them. The inspiration for these came from the stampin' up catalogue.

The papers are bazzill and some bits and pieces from my stash pile.
I did make another card but it is for a friends birthday and I know she pops on by here every now and then to check in and it would be rude if she saw her card on here before I give it to her. So you will have to wait to see that one.
By the way Thank you for all my birthday wishes - I had a super happy day - very relaxing and then hubby took me to dinner that night. It was so nice. Since then I have been right back into study mode. With my first of my big tests submitted on line yesterday, now I am studying like mad for my last one for this term on Thursday morning.
Just before I go - I never thought that I would need to address this but something has come to my attention that needs to be said. Whenever I case or use inspiration from somewhere other than my  own  brain - I and most crafters give credit where credit is due. I love getting ideas from my lovely blogging buddies and I love telling you where I got the inspiration from - I love to share the amazing talent that is in the crafty world. And as most of you know with being so busy lately that my mojo is not 100 % so I do case some of my cards.  I try never to copy something completely because I don't think that that is fair. If ever I copy work too closely - I always  message the artist and ask if it is ok, then give credit to them in my post.
But someone has not only been copying my work exactly but selling it as their own creations and design. This makes me sad - not for me cause I am happy with my work, but sad that someone has to copy and pass it off as their own. I'm sure that if you can make a card - then somewhere inside is some creative energy to come up with your own designs. I never thought I was good enough to be copied but I guess I am flattered that someone thought enough of my work to copy it exactly - but give credit where credit is due please.
Ok well I am off now to go organise lunch.
Have a great day.
Talk soon

Tied to the study desk and not the crafty desk

Hello and a happy Saturday to you,
Can you believe it is half way through January already?
BLAH where is all this time going - Please slow down Mr Time - either that or add a couple of extra hours to each day so that I can get everything done that I need to (or want to in the case of the crafty makes).
I have not been into the craft room for over a month now - not at all - how sad is that!!!!!
And I am missing it - I need Mr Balance to make an appearance again don't I.
I'm afraid that my maths studies have been keeping me way too busy at the moment.
I have two assessments due in the next few weeks with one of them my end of course, closed book,
3 hour test and hihodeho has that got me stressing!!!!!!!
However I have got some light at the end of the tunnel as this is my last course of my STEPS program then I have about 3 weeks off before I start my undergrad program
I can't wait for either hehehe
I am ready for a break
and I can't wait to actually get my teeth into my chosen field of study - Psychology - I know I know some would say that is a little strange for a crazy women to be studying Psychology
but maybe I will have some helpful insight as to how the mind of a crazy person works hehehehehe
But I also have a light at the end of the tunnel for the crafty room as well.
I have a plan to be very naughty and steal a day all to myself and to share it with little my crafty room.
You see it is my birthday on Monday - the big 45 (ooohhhhh that sounds so scary in itself - I'm sure I am really only 21 aren't I? Did someone fast forward the calenders - yes that must be it - and really I am only 21 - that sounds much better!!!!!) so my birthday present to myself is to craft my little heart away all day - hehehehe how good does that sound!
I feel naughty just thinking about it but I am going to enjoy every second. And I will have to do it as you will now be eagerly awaiting my birthday makes won't you hehehehe.
Ok well have a great weekend
make sure you enjoy what ever you are doing
'cause remember that
every day that drifts on by is a day you will never get back again
so enjoy each second!!!!
