Happy 50th Birthday Present for my lovely Sister

Hello and a happy Sunday to you,
I hope you are having a lovely day, whatever you may be doing or where ever you may be.
I thought I would show you what has been keeping me busy these last few days.
I am very late in getting my lovely Sister's 50th Birthday Present made - so late in fact she turns 51 today. Oh my goodness - how slack am I!!!!!!!

So the last couple of days I have been a busy little beaver working away to try and get this finished so that I can send it to her - better late than never!
But thought that I had better take photo's to show you all first before I send it.
I'm pretty sure she always forgets my blog address (must be an age thing hehehehe) so I think I am safe putting it up here before she gets it.
It's a journal of her 50 years.

There are 14 different sections - for particular special memories, magical moments, favourite foods, fun things she has done and heaps more. Here are a few of the pages:

And this is the final section - like a bucket list I guess.
Each section has pages for her to fill out her memories. With pockets for little souvenirs etc.
I was going to embellish each title page a little more but it has ended up being very thick already - so I had to cut down.

Anyway that is what is keeping me so busy.
One week of holidays to go.
I have had a couple of crafty days with my lovely crafty buddies and I am hoping to get one more day in before I get back to study.
I have been doing a few other crafty makes - so I will share them in the next few days.

Have a great afternoon,
talk soon
x joy

Penny Black Saturday Challenge

Hello, back again,
I can't stay away today.
I am lovin' all this free time to play - it is soooo much fun!!!!!

And I finally get a chance to play along with my absolute favourite challenge
Penny Black Saturday.

This months theme is
Love and Marriage

and here is my entry:

This uses:
Penny Black stamp 'I'm so cute!!'
Spellbinders Nestabilities 'petite scalloped circles small'
Martha Stewart 'Lattice Heart' punch
Cherry Lynn Designs 'Build a flower #1'
Bo Bunny 'Crazy Love' paper
Bazzill Card stock
Stamin' Up sentiment and brad

This is the first time that I have used my Cherry Lynn Design, build a flower. I wasn't sure even how to use it - so I googled it and found the Cherry Lynn You Tube Video's.
I must say I had to laugh cause there is a man doing their video's (I think his name is Mike) and oh my goodness how frustrating was it - I just wanted to grab the flower from him and do it myself.!!!!!!!!!!!
 Hehehehehehe
he has man sized chubby fingers and he just couldn't maneuver the flower and the tools like a women.
Sorry Mike!!!
But despite chubby uncoordinated fingers it was a good video and I learnt how to use the die.

Anyway I love the die and will use it often I think.
I hope you like it.
Perhaps it might be Hubby's Valentines card for this year.
ok talk soon
x joy

Little boys birthday card

Hello and happy Wednesday to you,

I am still getting some time to play and I am loving every minute of it.
I made this card because I hardly ever make little boy bithday cards (even though I have 2 boys) I seem to make ladies cards all the time. So step outside the usual for a change and this is what I came up with:

This used:
Kaiser craft Technologic clear stamp set
Cuttlebug diamond plate embossing folder
Sizzix Tim Holtz gadget gears die (I have wanted this for ages)
bazzill card stock
Blue strippy paper from my stash of bits and pieces that I have had for ages - not sure who made it sorry.

I love the diamond plate embossing folder on silver metalic card - it looks like real metal - even Hubby was impressed.

Ok I am heading back into my crafty haven to play again,
talk soon
x joy

P.S.
I have tried to add a link to Sylvie's great candy  in my side panel - but Mr Blogger won't play the game, so here is the link instead

What was I thinking??????

Hello and a super happy Monday to you,
Oh what a lovely day, the boys are at school ( the big one is at work)
and I have the house all to myself.
OOOOhhhhhh how lovely!!!!

I have the house work all up to date.
The bathrooms are a shining, the floors are all vacuumed and mopped, the kitchen is a sparkling, the washing is a hanging and I am a smiling.
And I popped myself into the craft room and played.
Hehehehehe and I don't feel one little bit naughty!!!!!

Now just in case you are wondering what my title is all about today - I will fill you in.
Have you ever had one of those - Oh my goodness - what was I thinking moments?
Well I had one today - hehehehehehe.
You see I needed a card for my lovely Maths lecturer to say Thank you.
Well somewhere in the middle of the night I had a brain wave to use my Stamin' Up 'perfectly preserved' set and to make a jar full of maths symbols.
What a great idea - only when I went to the computer I realised I needed my Microsoft publisher to do my computer magic. And it is on my broken down computer - Urgh!
Plan B - go look google images for a maths symbol image. Found it, just the right one - not a free one - no siree, that would of been too easy. I found one that I had to purchase Hahahaha and not any old one at that. It was just over 10 pound British - not too bad I tell myself at this point. The image is just perfect so I go for it. Print it out make the card then check my credit card account = YIKES!!!!!!
It was $16.09 Australian hahahahahaha and I will probably only use it once -
 so hence
 THE WHAT WAS I THINKING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess I should stop here and show you the card I made:
It is the jar of symbols sitting on a Cartesian plane. I am happy with it - but is it worth over $16 - hmmmmmmm I know what hubby's answer would be hehehehehe

The inside view - I had to get my monies worth with the maths symbols so I printed them in a line to get this strip. Finished with another stampin' up stamp and some star punches.

I do believe that is must be my most expensive(needed for one card) and silliest craft purchase yet!!!
So please make me feel better and pop me a comment and tell my your silliest craft purchase so I will feel a little better.

Well I might go see what else I can achieve for the day - hopefully no more super dumb online purchases hehehehehe
Ok talk soon
x joy

Yippeee I had a play

Hello
happy Saturday to you
what a glorious day it is here in Smithville,
the sun is shining,  the birds are singing and there is a nice cool breeze blowing
and to make the day even better - I have had a play in the craft room
Yippeeio !
Ohhhh geee it was nice!
I have really missed just sitting and playing with all my craft supplies and stash.
I had intended on getting some housework done first but the crafty urge was too great - how could I resist hehehe! That together with the fact it is in fact Hubby's birthday today and I hadn't made him a card yet, sealed the deal. So into the craft haven I went and this is what I came up with for the big fella:

He is my super star and he truly is amazing. You should see all the amazing things he does! He is one of those people who can do some much! when it comes to renovating our house, what ever mad idea I come up with, he just gets to it and builds whatever I suggest - so very clever. And I am one very lucky girl! We are nearing the end of our reno's so when we are finished I will put up lots of pictures for you all to see.

This card uses:
Stampin' Up Sprinkled Expressions stamp set.
Hero Arts Thinking of you Messages stamp set.
Bo Bunny, Blast Off! U.F.O paper.
Bazzill Card.
Sizzix Framelits Stars die.
Ribbon, button and string from my stash.

This is the first time that I have used this stampin up set - and I love it - it is sure to become a favourite. I have cut the sentiments from the little stars and will use them as 2 separate stamps - I can always use my stamp-a-ma-jig to line them back up and use them together if need be.

Ok well I am off to have more play time.
Have a great day.
talk soon
x joy

p.s. Before I go I must send out my thoughts and prayers to all those in Queensland who are suffering with these terrible floods. Stay safe and strong - you can get through this and life will be happy again soon. Don't let it beat you.
